Washington Island Bass Report!
July is upon us and the weather is fantastic up here on Washington Island! The Lake Michigan breeze has kept us a lot cooler then the rest of Wisconsin. The Smallmouth Bass Fishing is RED HOT!! The season Began on Sunday July 1st and the bite has been amazing! Both number and Big fish are being caught currently. The fish are in the post-spawn phase, which is historically kind of tough but we are having great results. We’ve been using a lot of tactics due to fish being scattered following the spawn. Our best baits have been Dropshotting small plastics, Tubes, Neko rigs, Spybaits, Swimbaits, and Jerkbaits. The fish are all done spawning and this season is setting up to have the fish stacking up on offshore humps and reefs in no time!
