Late May Fishing Report!

What a cold, windy, & wet spring we’ve been experiencing here in Door County! The water is higher then I’ve ever seen it before, which gives the smallies a lot more places to hide! The water temps range from 45 degs up north to almost 60 degs in Sturgeon Bay. Even though we’ve had tougher conditions we have still been able to put great Smallies in the Ranger 620FS all May! The first major wave of Spawning fish are starting to nest along the shallower Harbors and Bays. A large majority of the Bass are still pre-spawn. The best June Fishing in history might go down this season. It is setting up to be lights out with longer days, warmer temps, and Smallies wanting to push up shallow! Full moon is June 17th and they all should be up Spawning by then. Currently a lot of our fish are coming on Lucky Craft Jerkbaits, Mainly in Natural colors. We also are using Howie’s Tackle Shorty Tubes with 1/8oz jigs. We are targeting 6-20 FOW just depending water temp and weather conditions. It seems that the fish push up in less then 10 FOW on the sunny days and Hang out 10 plus on cloudier days. I have a few day in June to fill, 10th, 11th, 23rd, 27th, 30th. Please call or Email if your looking to get out!
